Hello to you in Louisiana! Do you remember this sculpture? Right outside if Landscape A. It always made my day to gaze out upon it. Glad you like the poem.
Well, Mary, anything about the Iowa State campus and Ames is dear to my heart (ISU '79). Thank you for sharing this. I will be spending few days back in Ames in a couple of weeks. As I'm traipsing across campus as though I were still a 20-year-old undergrad, I'll take a break from my shin splints and spend some time here. :) This is wonderful. Bless you.
Oh, thank you, Pat. I'm so glad you like this post. For several years there was a conifer outside my window that blocked the view to the Pepper sculpture. So I walked around it in the morning on my way to my office and gave it a nod. Then we had a bad ice storm that took down the tree. At first, I was upset, then I realized I had a much better view of Janus. Over the years, I grew to like this piece more and more. ISU has such amazing art work! Little known secret. Thank you, Lynette Pohlman and all the hard workers at the University Museums.
I love this poem so much, Mary! Thank you for writing it, and for sharing it here. And greetings from Louisiana!

I do indeed, and liked it, though I never thought as deeply about it before!

Thank you for this morning prayer as I wake up to the sunrise on the frozen prairie.
Thank you for being the perfect reader! And for all you do. Missed you at the PFI Conference, Denise.
Perfect, beautiful, poignant January poem. Thank you!
